Welcome to Steeg – the first village in the upper Tyrolean Lech Valley.

Steeg – our village on the last wild river in Central Europe is the ideal starting point for both summer and winter holidays. Perfect for those seeking peace, appreciating authenticity, and looking to recharge body and mind.

In winter, you can enjoy skiing at the highest level: the nearby Ski Arlberg area offers over 300 kilometres of slopes and state-of-the-art lifts. Whether skiing, snowboarding, freeriding or winter hiking – everyone will find their perfect winter experience. A well-developed ski bus network takes you comfortably to the lifts free of charge with a valid ski pass.

Away from the slopes, the snowy landscape invites you to enjoy guided snowshoe hikes or atmospheric torchlit walks in the clear alpine air. Cross-country skiers can enjoy over 100 kilometres of perfectly groomed trails throughout the Lech Valley.

In summer, Steeg reveals its diverse side: explore well-marked hiking trails in the Lech meadows, visit traditional alpine huts or climb impressive peaks up to 3,000 metres. A special highlight is the Kneipp facility at the waterfall directly on the Lech river. A hike into the idyllic, flower- and herb-rich Bockbach Valley is also highly recommended. Guided herb walks provide fascinating insights into local medicinal plants – including practical tips and a small herbal gift.

A memorable experience is the circular hike from Steeg to Kienberg and back via the suspension bridge – a true adventure for all ages.

Small but charming…

… Kaisers – an authentic mountain farming village at 1,530 metres above sea level and the highest municipality in the Reutte district. Surrounded by impressive mountain scenery, Kaisers stands for tranquillity, nature and authenticity. The pilgrimage church of St. Anne is well worth a visit. Numerous hiking and mountain tours make it a popular starting point for nature lovers.

In winter, Kaisers is also a valued starting point for ski touring – offering challenges for every level.
