An area with a wealth of different ski slopes for sportspeople and those who just want to enjoy themselves
Downhill skiing, snowboarding, freeriding or deep-snow skiing in powder snow
Skiing in Stuben means making waves with your skis, surfing with your snowboard, sending up rooster tails in deep snow or zipping down the ski runs at top speed with your family. Skiing in Stuben is also comfortable: Most of the accommodation is right by the ski slopes and many places offer ski in – ski out. The siren’s call of the fabulous mountain scenery sounds as early in the morning when you are eating a hearty breakfast – drawing ski instructors, tour guides, freeriders and snowboarders out into the magnificent whiteness.
More than 300 kilometers of downhill ski runs in all levels of difficulty and 200 kilometers of exclusively deep snow downhill runs provide experts and connoisseurs with everything their winter sportsperson’s heart desires. Here skiers heed the call of the mountain. As the local mountain with guaranteed snow right through to May, the Albona provides new challenges on a daily basis for winter sportspeople and those who live and breathe the snow and the sun. It is rare for a mountain to offer so many ski sport and downhill run options. A wealth of natural snow and the most up-to-date snow technology guarantee top-class conditions.
Stuben is a ski paradise with a wide variety of slopes to suit everyone who is looking for sport, boundless fun on the slopes and a cozy stay with their hosts. Skiers in Stuben enjoy a direct ski connection to the ski area of St. Anton and St. Christoph with the Albonabahn cable car. From Alpe Rauz, a ski bus transports guests comfortably to Zürs. From there, the area of Lech and Zürs is open to ski fans who are keen to conquer further slopes. The ski bus is naturally included in the price of the ski pass.
Powder snow weeks
When it is at its coldest in the mountains, when there is an abundance of “dry” snow after Christmas and when snow is flying off-piste, the powder snow weeks are proclaimed. There is an almost endless number of downhill runs from Albona Grat to Stuben. Skiers in Stuben have a direct ski connection to the ski area of St. Anton and St. Christoph. The world-renowned winter sports area Ski Arlberg offers everything your heart desires – from comfortable family downhill runs through to high-Alpine tours for professionals.
Freeride and snowboard paradise
The Albona chair lift takes you comfortably from Stuben up to the Albona in the south of the resort (2400 m), Stuben’s local mountain in the Verwall Group, which is popular for freeriding in powder snow off-piste and is one of the trademarks of the Arlberg ski region. You will be welcomed by 1000 altitude meters of tree-free north slope downhill runs. The ski area of Albona is part of the lift association of the area of St. Anton am Arlberg. On the Alpe Rauz, the Valfagehrbahn (6-person chair lift) leads to the Pfannenkopf and the Ulmer Hut. If you would like to experience what is feels like to be a downhill racer, try one of the Riesentorlauf racing routes – in Stuben on the Walchlift – and others in Lech, Zürs or St. Anton.
