Matrei am Brenner-Mühlbachl-Pfons

The village of Matrei is the perfect starting point for a nature and cultural holiday in the Wipptal. On the one hand, the untouched mountain valleys, such as the Navistal, are just nearby and on the other hand, you are perfectly connected to the nearby provincial capital of Innsbruck (approx. 15 min) by the railway station in Matrei. With the *guest card as a ticket for the Innsbruck-Brenner suburban railway and the regional buses, cultural excursions are easily possible.

In addition to the cultural sights in Innsbruck, there is also a lot to discover in Matrei: The Maria Waldrast monastery at the foot of the imposing Serles is known far beyond the borders of the country. Matrei-Trautson Castle with its new 150 m long suspension bridge is also worth seeing. The Basecamp Matrei with its new climbing and bouldering area, the Kraftsee in Pfons with its playground, the Marktl with its historic house fronts and the many hiking trails near the valley expand the offer.
