Weissensee Cross-Country Skiing Centre
Nature's playground
With its 40 km of diagonal trails and around 10 km of skating trails, the Weissensee region can be described as one of the top cross-country skiing destinations in Carinthia. At an altitude of almost 1,000 metres, the region not only enjoys plenty of sunshine, but is also mostly fog-free.
The trails vary in difficulty. While beginners can use the lake as a starting point for the practice trails and Seewiesenloipe, advanced skiers can enjoy the 10.6 km Franz-Josef-Loipe or the "Powercheck"/"Hühnernock" skating trail at 1,127 metres above sea level.
The local Weissensee ski and cross-country skiing school offers courses for beginners and advanced skiers, while Alpensport Weissensee in Techendorf is available to answer any questions about equipment and offers a rental service.
The Weissensee cross-country skiing centre in Carinthia has been awarded the Carinthian cross-country skiing seal of approval.
