The city of Immenstadt is lovingly called "Städtle" by its inhabitants. The historically shaped town, ist idyllically placed between the Alpsee and Iller at the foot of the mountain "Mittag" and "Immenstädter Horn". Immenstadt now consists of six districts. These are: Akams, Bühl/ Alpsee, Diepolz, Eckarts, Rauhenzell and Stein.

Immenstadt is not only a pleasant, relaxing hiking region, but also cyclists will have their pleasure. Exciting mountain bike tours in the natural park, tours with the e-bike, or trekking bike routes offer variety for wheel-driven tourists. Of course, there is enough rental material for every holidaymaker.

Watersports are really important, too. On the large alpine lake you can enjoy excellent sailing, windsurfing, kite surfing, stand-up paddling or fishing. The lake also invites you to swim and stroll along the lakeside promenade. The small alpine lake (with additional heated pools) also offers alternatives to cooling in the hot summer. In the Alpsee-Grünten region you can also find one of the largest watercourses in Germany: At lake "Inselsee Blaichach".

Immenstadt and the region "Alpsee-Grünten" is a pleasure in winter, too. Not far from the center you can start your winter adventure, in a beautiful snowy winter atmosphere. A wide range of winter activities, such as winter hikes, snowshoe hikes or ski tours invite you to active winter holidays. In addition, a total of 35 km of trails (classic and skating) are available for sporting cross-country skiing. At the mountain "Mittag", there is also the longest natural sledge descent in Germany. If you want to ice-skating, you can use the "Großer Alpsee" (depending on the weather) as well as the ice rink in the "Städtle". Of course you can also enjoy great alpine skiing areas in the beautiful Allgäu.

Culture and tradition still have a high priority in Immenstadt. Immenstadt is even the only city, where year after year a cattle pass called "Viehscheid" is still taking place. Alp and agriculture are clearly of central importance on the spot. Other traditional festivals such as sparks, "Klausenreiben", "Maibaumaufstellen" or church on mountain are cultivated and celebrated in Immenstadt.
