Langrend på ski Pleystein

The cross-country skiing centres Pleystein and Mitterberg near Pleystein, where snow is guaranteed, are located to the east and west of the Zottbach valley in the Upper Palatinate Forest Nature Park.

The Bockl cycle path is also used for cross-country skiing in winter. The trail runs along the former railway line. The 10 kilometres in total are groomed for both classic and skating styles.
The Bocklradweg trail starts at Berglerschleife, Pleystein and leads via Zimmerplatz in Pleystein (car park) to Vohenstrauß. There is also an approx. 500m long circuit on the fairground (Lohmaer Straße) for skating and classic cross-country skiing.

Mitterberg cross-country skiing centre (700m above sea level) - also known for its rock and viewing plateau "Großer Stein".
Circular trails of 10 km; 6 km; 4 km and 3 km are regularly groomed here.
However, access is only possible via the Waidhaus-Georgenberg state road.
Unfortunately, the Mitterberg trail is expected to be closed until 20.12.203 due to tree felling work.
