Klosterneuburg, only a few kilometers north of Austria´s capital Vienna, is an easy half-day trip from Vienna due to its tightly connection.
One of Klosterneuburg’s greatest advantages is its location between the vineyards covering the lower reaches of the Vienna Woods and the riverside woodlands along the banks of the Danube. Klosterneuburg is Lower Austria´s third largest town with a population of about 26,000.With its almost 900 year tradition, the vineyard of the Klosterneuburg Monastery, the city´s landmark, is the oldest in Austria.
Klosterneuburg is the centre of a wine growing area, with several esteemed vintners, numerous Heuriger taverns, and the Federal Institute for Viticulture and Pomology, Apart from the monastery, Klosterneuburg has many other sights to offer. Old burghers’ houses, interesting memorials, a museum, statues, and the baroque town hall - everything contributes towards the historic character of the town.
Furthermore you can find leisure and sports facilities like the cycle path along the Danube, mountain biking or hiking trails in the Wienerwald as well as swimming, horse riding, tennis or several winter activities for the cold season ensure well-being and attractive possibilities for a wonderful vacation.

The Bicycle Train Danube offers bicyclists travelling from Vienna to Passau or the other way around, the opportunity to travel a part of the journey comfortably by train.
Klosterneuburg has a direct access to the Vienna city centre via the Klosterneuburger Straße highway (B14), by the Vienna train network on the Emperor Franz Joseph Railway line (S40) from Franz-Josefs-Bahnhof to Tulln, with the Vienna Sightseeing bus and along the EV6 The Rivers cycling route.
