Izlake is a place within the municipality of Zagorje ob Savi and is geographically located in the region of Moravsko - Trbovlje in the center of Slovenia.
Izlake is famous for its annual artists' colony. The place is also known for the - unfortunately 2009 - defunct Therme Medijske Toplice. Nevertheless Izlake is the tourist center of the region. Among many possibilities of outdoor activities such as hiking and mountain biking, the place offers some cultural sights, such as the*Medija Castle*. Izlake is also considered the birthplace of the Slovene polymath Johann Weikhard of Valvasor, which is most likely buried in the family vault.
At the lookout point above the village stands the parish church of St. George (slov.: Sveti Jurij) from 1523, which belongs to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Ljubljana.
