The Kneipp circular route Bad Berka connects the pillars of water and movement of Kneipp's teaching in a beautiful landscape. Along the route, you will find information about the 5 pillars of Kneipp's teaching. Various springs along the path supply hikers with fresh water. The Kneipp circular route is listed as a Regional TOP Route (Priority B) in the Thuringian Hiking Route Concept 2025.
The start is at the Kneipp facility at the Goethe Fountain at the Tourist Information Bad Berka. From there, via Ilmstraße and Parkstraße to Blankenhainer Straße. At the pedestrian traffic light, the Blankenhainer Straße is crossed, and the path leads along Trebestraße. After 1.2 km, it goes right behind the community center of the Catholic Church into the forest, and the path leads via a trail almost to the Bad Berka sports field. As soon as the trail meets an asphalt path, we turn left onto this asphalt path and follow it to the entrance of Dreiteichsgrund. Here there is a grill hut and a resting place. Because the Ilm Valley Cycle Path also runs on this way, you encounter many cyclists. At Dreiteichsgrund we turn left into the valley, walk along the three ponds, and reach Carl-Alexander-Platz at km 3. Here is the Kneipp facility Dammbachsgrund with benches as well as the Carl-Friedrich Spring. The asphalt path continues north into Dammbachsgrund, changes into a gravel path, and leads along three other ponds. On the way, you find the Hubertus spring, a shelter, and a spruce planted in 1823. At km 5.5, we leave the gravel path and turn left onto the forest path. We follow this until at km 6 the path continues on a gravel path. Follow this gravel path for about 700 m, then the path turns left into the forest. Here comes a section of forest path that is strongly interspersed with tree roots. Passing the source Gottesbrünnlein with the detour to the Rhododendron Garden Bad Berka, at the Kneipp facility Gottesbrünnlein, and at the natural monument Hertasee, the path meets the former railway line Bad Berka - Blankenhain. Here we stop and turn left and walk along the asphalt path past the outdoor pool, turn right at Trebestraße. At the end of Trebestraße, the path crosses Blankenhainer Straße at the pedestrian traffic light, and the goal of the circular path is reached.
