This beautiful hike starts in Ellmautal at the Grundlehen parking lot. The path to Ellmaualm first passes through a forested section, then crosses wide alpine meadows. At the Ellmaualm you can refresh yourself with homemade delicacies for the rest of the hike. Continuing along the Salzburger Almenweg, you first pass the Henerbichlalm (not operated), where sheep and horses spend their alpine summer. Then you reach a special natural gem, the Trögsee lakes. In these small ponds, the surrounding mountain scenery is reflected, creating a charming view. Particularly in summer, these small moor lakes are perfect for cooling off. In the last meters to the Gründegg, you already have a magnificent view over the mountain world of Großarl valley. This mountain is very versatile; you can continue hiking in three directions and extend or shorten the route as you like. A recommended descent is to the Weißalm, where you are treated to a delicious snack or homemade pastries. The return goes along the alpine path back to Grundlehen, the starting point of the route.
