Mösern/ Buchen

The mountain village of Mösern and the hamlet of Buchen enjoy a prime, sun-blessed location on the Seefeld plateau at an altitude of 1,245 metres above sea level. Boasting unique, breathtaking views across the Inn Valley towards the Arlberg massif and the surroundings mountain peaks, the holiday resort of Mösern-Buchen exudes convivial, rural charm and guarantees a tranquil, relaxing holiday. The smallest gem in the Olympiaregion Seefeld offers idyllic scenery, spectacular vistas, a host of sports and recreation activities and mouth-watering culinary delights.

Mösern-Buchen – the so-called Swallows’ Nest of Tyrol – is an ideal holiday destination in summer and a fantastic holiday resort winter, for sports enthusiasts and families alike. Immaculately groomed cross-country ski trails offer those who enjoy exercise and the great outdoors the chance to enjoy an active break amid pristine, natural surroundings. For children and newcomers to the sport of alpine skiing, Mösern has a gentle practice slope with a drag tow, offering ideal conditions for ‘finding your skiing feet’ away from the hustle and bustle of the busy pistes. For more experienced, proficient skiers, the region’s nearby ski areas offer challenging slopes of all levels of difficultly to ensure a memorable and enjoyable ski holiday.

A holiday in Mösern-Buchen on the mountain plateau offers not only enjoyable, sun-filled days amid a picture-book setting, but also a vast network of fantastic hiking trails suitable for walkers of all abilities. From families to experienced hiking enthusiasts, Mösern-Buchen offers countless opportunities to enjoy nature and the great outdoors in all its facets. Nestled amid a nature protection area at an elevation of 1,292 metres, the Möserer See lake, which is up to eleven metres deep in places, is one of the warmest bathing lakes in Tyrol. With small wooden jetties and meadows along its edge, the lake is perfect for swimming and sunbathing. Not far away are the Wildmoossee and Lottensee lakes, two well-known, irregularly-appearing natural phenomena attributable to a specific relationship between the water level and the underground karst system which, in turn, depends on the amount of springtime precipitation and snowmelt.
