Right next to the old imperial road, between Vienna and Prague, lies the small market town of Echsenbach. Characterised by its rural idyll and hospitality, the hiker encounters a wide variety of sights along the way, from the past to the present: religious, such as the parish church, the Kaisermarterl - cultural, such as the first schnapps glass museum in Austria - or fun and games in the middle of the greenery. You should take at least three hours to enjoy the hike and to get to know our community. We recommend this circular hike for those who want to hike partly on asphalt paths. The tour can also be done by bicycle. Journey time approx. 50 min.

The trail leads you through the village of Echsenbach in the direction of Rieweis, at the elevated tank you turn into a field path where you get a wonderful view of Echsenbach. The path leads to the road to Gerweis. Children can let off steam at the playground in the centre of the village. As you continue hiking towards Mayerhöfen, the trail turns off in the village of Mayerhöfen to the "3 Kaisermarterl". During an imperial manoeuvre in 1891, the Emperor of Austria Franz Joseph I, the German Emperor Wilhelm II and Albert I King of Saxony met here because of the wonderful view. A fact that is historically documented. Continuing through forest and meadows, you reach the Rieweiser Höhe and, after 800 m, the elevated tank. The road now leads back to Echsenbach. Finally, our Schnaps-Glas Museum invites you to visit.
