A freshly groomed park is glistening in the morning sun while hovering camera drones are casting the first shadows on the mountain’s slopes - this can only mean one thing: It’s shooting time at the Snowpark Kitzbühel! In the run up to the upcoming Sick Trick Tour Open on Saturday, a select group of riders was sent out to take the setup on the Hanglalm to the test – judging by the footage we produced, it passed this test with flying colors!

Is there a formula for excellent footage? You should try combining talented riders with a well-coordinated film crew and a cam-drone, add perfect weather conditions and the factor 28 for the number of obstacles – we did just that and the footage basically produced itself. Filmmaker Balint Hambalko and photographer Patrick Steiner kept their cameras rolling nonstop and captured one line after the other of freeskier Moritz Klammer and snowboarders Christoph Schrammel, Thiery Leroy and Alois Lindmoser, and thus collected tons of footage for you to marvel at.

“The park is really cool to ride and it’s a lot of fun – especially the kickers,” snowboarder Alois Lindmoser tells us. He likes park shootings a lot, if he’s not just on the road with the Austrian Snowboard Team for contests like the World Championships on the Kreischberg, or somewhere in Istanbul: “I love shootings, and seeing that the shots we just produced turned out great, that is a really good feeling.” For him, shootings are a nice change from his training and preparations for competitions: “We’re all on the road together basically all the time and keep pushing ourselves – that’s just the best type of preparation you can do.”
Freeskier and quattro Snow Park Obergugrl park designer, Moritz Klammer, agrees: “It was a lot of fun, the weather was perfect and shooting with a camera drone was an exciting experience.” It was his birthday, too, and he took a day off just to stop by and shoot with his buddies in Kitzbühel. He also agrees with Alois on the various features that the park has to offer: “The park is great, particularly the kicker line is awesome!” His colleague, Snowpark Kitzbühel park designer Christoph Schrammel was particularly pleased to hear his creation in high praise: After all, he worked hard to provide kickers with tables up to 12m, and thus a lot of airtime. Naturally, the host of the session also took the opportunity to take part and show his guests how to shred “his” park properly. “It’s always nice to ride you own park – you just know it like like no other place,” Christoph says with a laugh. “It really was a great shooting with very good and committed riders, and at ideal weather conditions, of course.”
The media crew had a good time, too: “The rainbow rail was my personal favorite today. For me as a photographer, this is a very versatile obstacle,” Patrick says enthusiastically. If it was up to him, he’d join the session himself: “First off, this park is great from a photographer’s point of view. There are a lot of possibilities to shoot – and the panorama in Kitzbühel is just amazing. Also, from a rider’s perspective, I would love to hit the obstacles myself! The lines offer a lot of room for very good riders while, at the same time, they are not too hard for non-pros to ride. This crew, of course, had no troubles finding their way through the park: I did some shootings with Moritz last year already, he has a great style and working with him is just really easy. And I think I don’t have to mention that Alois is a great rider, too!
