At the foot of the Grande Moucherolle, the village has preserved its architectural heritage and friendly atmosphere, born of the early development of middle-class tourism. Before winter sports took over in 1925, it was fashionable to treat yourself here to a "cure of air and milk". Today it's a town of over 4,000 inhabitants, bustling all year round with pedestrianised streets, a market, a wave pool, an indoor skating rink, a bowling alley, a casino, a museum... Two types of holiday are possible: "ski-in, ski-out" from the Balcon de Villard-Cote 2000, a resort located 5 km from the centre of the village, or "in the village", linked to the Alpine and Nordic ski areas by free shuttles.
