Im Sommer 2008 wurde die Schneeanlagen erweitert. Das Skigebiet kann nun auf der österreichen Seite zu 100 % künstlich beschneit werden. Im Sommer 2009 ist der Bau einer 15er Gondelbahn von Seegatterl (Reit im Winkl) auf die Winklmoosalm geplant.
Skiområde Waidring - Steinplatte
The ski paradise Steinplatte - Rossalm - Winklmoosalm lies in an area where three countries meet, namely the Tyrol, Salzburg and Bavaria. The wonderful ski resort can be reached from Waidring with a modern cable car, installed in 1998. One of the 49 gondolas transports 15 passengers (9 sitting, 6 standing), i.e. in one hour 2500 persons can be transported into the ski resort.
The idea behind the planning of the cable car system was to offer runs of all degrees of difficulty. Hence a ski circuit has been created where everybody finds the right slopes for their level of expertise.
