Macugnaga, a weel equipped skiing resort, offers miles of beautiful managed pistes for skiing enthusiasts. Thanks to the snowmaking machine you can ski in December even at low altitude, admist the larch woods and the ancient refuges, that contribute towards making these wonderful sceneries unique. But also, for high altitude skiing enthusiasts, Macugnaga has the 3000 m. pistes of Monte Moro, which are also well equipped and suitable for skiers of all abilities. The landscape from the refuge terraces is unrivalled and the eye sweeps beyond the Italian peaks, across the boarder to the valleys of nearby Switzerland.
